A little update since January's journal regarding the conventions, UChi Con was a lot of fun. As you can see, I got some great photos from my friends Anthony and Ron and unlike last year, I was able to find more people that I knew at the convention so it was definitely less lonely than last time. :'D
I just got back from Anime Milwaukee this past weekend and I had a total blast. Signing up for it was last-minute. I was lucky I got to room with an old friend from high school. I wasn't originally going to attend but when I heard Bryce Papenbrook (he does the voice of Jack Russell from "Radiata Stories") would be a guest there, I was immediately sold. I got a good number of photos taken there, most of which I'm debating submitting here as well as my other cosplay profiles because they're not as professional but don't quote me on it, I might change my mind. Of course, the highlight of my weekend was getting to interact with Bryce. He complimented my Zane cosplay, though, he didn't know what I was from because he hadn't actually played Radiata Stories. Nonetheless, he held a late night panel on Friday that I went to which had a significantly smaller crowd than the one I had went to in the afternoon and it was nice because he took the opportunity to talk individually with his fan as well as sign autographs and take selfies and stuff. I got to do all three.
Coming up is Indy Comic Con in a month to which Bryce is also attending. Actually that was originally the con I intended to go to because I knew he would be a guest but when I found out he was also going to AMKE, I decided, "Why not?". It's going to be quite a drive to Indianapolis but I'll be staying with my friend Alex rather than spending money on a hotel and I'll also stop to see Dorie on the way.
After that, the rest of March and April will be relatively calm unless something happens but in mid-May is when ACen happens and that's when my bro is coming down from Canada to come to the con with me. Dorie is also thinking of coming up with a friend as well. I'm really looking forward to that.
Aside from all my nerdy convention news, I went on my two tobogganing trips. Unfortunately, the first trip which was to Indiana we wound up not even going down because it was a holiday weekend and the line was insanely long. We got to go down when we were in Ohio, though.
Also looking forward to Nightwish's new album coming out. I hope they put it on iTunes because I think I still have a bit of money on my account to buy it.
I'm also looking to apply to the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). I have until March to do so and doing that will mean I'll have to move out of mom's and into my dad's basement apartment which probably won't be too bad as long as I have internet but my mom might fuss about me leaving. Ahh well. OTL;; Also, I need to get another job. Not sure if out by my mom's or near my dad's for when I do eventually move but I'm still figuring it out.
So what's new with you guys?
