Let's Fly

A picture I had drawn in my sketchbook...maybe about a month ago, roughly. Took a picture of it with my camera since I don't have a scanner, coloured it in Photoshop CS5 over the course of last night and tonight while talking to ~Mustafa69 on Skype. I'm actually very pleased with the result.

In case it wasn't blatantly obvious, it's Nogueira and Zane as young children. Since I don't know (or have any theory of) how elves age in Radiata Stories, I'd say that in human years, Nogueira is about ten while Zane is five-ish. Zane has never flown before. At least, not that high. So his big brother decides to help break him out of his shell and explore new altitudes.

No facial hair needed because, well, they're kids. Though, what may genuinely appear that Zane still has that little pharaoh goatee, that's actually just the twisty part of his collar. It's just hard to tell at the angle. Also, I figured to add the perception of height, I would add their shadows on the ground. I don't know why, but every time I draw Nogueira he always has that...smile where his eyes are closed and I can't tell whether it's just that I think that expression really suits him or I'm just too lazy to draw his irises. Maybe it's a mix of both. Fun fact, I was getting tired after finishing colouring Zane and Nogueira that I was about to just find a photo of a birds-eye view of some trees and render the shit out of it but then it didn't make sense to me to spend so much time on the elven brothers and ruin the entire picture by half-assing the background.
